An
avid rider since he was a child, Charles de Kunffy had a privileged education
in the theory and practice of classical horsemanship. A graduate of the
University of California at Berkeley, Mr. de Kunffy taught various social
sciences-mainly philosophy and psychology-prior to devoting all his energy
to the equestrian arts. He has taught college courses and conducted seminars
for dressage judges and riding instructors in America, Europe, Africa,
and Australia, as well as judged competitions himself on each of these
continents.
Academically observed and emulated, Mr. de Kunffy has inspired
other riders and authors all over the world. Dressage
Principles Illuminated, a lovingly written promotion of riding's therapeutic
value for both human and horse and the importance of correct classical
equitation, is his sixth published book. Learn more about classical riding
