Monty
Roberts was born in California in 1935. He has spent his whole life working
with horses—schooling them, listening to them, and learning their
equine language. His autobiography, The Man Who Listens to Horses,
was published in 1996 and became an international bestseller, with over
3 million copies sold worldwide. He now spends months of every year on
the road taking his Join-Up® methods to a global audience. With over
1,500 demonstrations of his “gentling” techniques performed
on 6,000 horses in 22 countries, Monty’s message, “Violence
is never the answer,” is being listened to as never before.
In the new book The Horses in My Life, Monty celebrates his best-loved horses, chosen
from the tens of thousands he has worked with over the past 60 years.
He lives with his wife Pat at Flag Is Up Farms in Solvang, California.
